UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam 2024 : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a notification for the candidates to fill the vacant posts through direct recruitment under departmental Advt. letter No. 01/2024 ENGG dated 06.09.2023. According to the information given in the notification, online applications have been invited from eligible candidates to fill 167 vacant posts of Post Indian Engineering Services (IES) Class Group A through direct recruitment. UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam 2024 Educational Qualification:-
UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam 2024 : Aspirants are required to hold a Engineering Degree/Diploma or equivalent in the concerned discipline.
- For admission to the examination, a candidate must have –
obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or - passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
- obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/ College/ Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or
- passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
- passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
- passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959
Provided that a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’ may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:-
For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engg. Posts) – M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless
Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. (As per information circular)
UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam Age Limit as On 01.01.2024 :–
UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam 2024 : The age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years as on 01-01-2024, but reserved category and other eligible candidates declared by the government will be eligible for age relaxation as per the rules of the government.
The government will provide relaxation in upper age limit to reserved category candidates. Mentioned in the table below:

UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam 2024 : The indian Engineering Services Examination will consist of three successive stages –
Stage-I : Preliminary Examination (Objective type) – 500 Marks
Stage-II : Mains Examination (Descriptive Type) – 600 Marks
Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview – 200 Marks
